What is Cross-Connection?

In Plumbing, a cross-connection is a connection between potable (“clean”) water supply and non-potable (“dirty”) water supply whether it is present and/or anticipated. This connection may cause backflow conditions leading to serious health hazards.

Cross-Connection can happen within your property ….

and Cross-Connection can happen outside your property.

There are numerous, well-documented cases where cross-connections have been responsible for contaminating drinking water, and have resulted in the spread of disease. The problem is a dynamic one, because piping systems are continually being installed, altered, or extended.
